IP Rating or Ingress Protection is the term used to determine the degree of protection an object achieves from the intrusion of solid objects and liquids.
IP68 is defined as being completely protected against intrusion from solid objects and protected against effects of long term immersion.
If your product has the potential to be entirely immersed in water for long periods of time we advise IP68 rated enclosure is required.
